MADISON - As the season opener approaches, the battles for a starting spot on the Badgers offensive line are clearing up the picture.

Sophomore Kyle Costigan worked almost all of yesterday’s practice with the number-one offense at right guard. Senior Robert Burge did most of his work as the number-two right tackle, taking the place of Jonathan Coon, who was injured.

Burge, who is from Holmen, has the edge in on-the-field experience though Costigan, who is from Muskego, is considered to be more mobile. Costigan switched from defensive tackle to the offensive side last spring.
