Tammy Kincaid has loved working in the field of social work.

“It’s been a great career to me and a really good profession,” she said.

Now, she hopes to pass that love onto others, as Friday was her last day as Pierce County Director of Human Services. Starting Monday, she’ll be Assistant Professor of Social Work at UW-River Falls.

“I have certainly enjoyed working at Pierce County,” she said. “But, I always hoped to end up as a teacher. I didn’t think it would be this soon.”

Kincaid came to Pierce County in May 2007 from Washington County (Minn.).

“Five years went by in a flash,” she said. She added she was impressed with the staff here from the beginning and it hasn’t changed up until her final days.

“This department is dedicated to provide the best quality services in the most fiscally responsible manner,” she continued.
