Emerald Ash Borer now in Trempealeau County
Western Wisconsin News-- A bug that's been killing millions of ash trees continues to move.
TREMPEALEAU - A bug that's been killing millions of ash trees continues to move. Officials in Trempealeau County confirm that the Emerald Ash Borer has been spotted there.
The first of the shimmery beetles was caught from a tree in Perrot State Park. An infestation of the bugs is being fought a short distance away in Minnesota.
Trempeauleau County will now be added to the quarantine list, keeping residents from being able to move firewood, the most common way the ash borers travel. They've been found in 12 Wisconsin counties.
