In three of five area schools, graduating seniors who took the ACT college admissions test this year mostly scored a bit lower than their counterparts from a year ago.
In the other two districts, the scores in the two-year comparison were mainly higher for one school and largely the same for the remaining school.
Many of the differences either way were within one point and some were within tenths of a point.
The three schools with test takers having the slightly lower average scores this time were Elmwood, Plum City and Spring Valley, according to information from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI). It was those from Prescott schools who did somewhat better and those from Ellsworth schools who fared about the same.
