ROSEAU, Minn. -- Citizens around a small northwestern Minnesota town are being told to pull the keys from their cars and lock their houses. This, after the escape of a prisoner from custody near the community of Wannaska.

The Roseau County Sheriff's Office says Kevin Martin is not believed to be armed or dangerous but authorities think he might be prone to stealing a car since that was what put him in a work release program.

Martin escaped into a corn field Monday afternoon after hitching a ride with his girlfriend, who was later apprehended.
