Western Wisconsin News-- A pilot from Eau Claire escaped injury, after his 1941 classic bi-plane crashed in a field near Jim Falls in Chippewa County.
JIM FALLS - A pilot from Eau Claire escaped injury, after his 1941 classic bi-plane crashed in a field near Jim Falls in Chippewa County.
Authorities said David Worgernese was flying his Waco UPF-Seven single-engine bi-plane when it started having engine trouble. Sheriff’s officials said he tried to land in a hayfield, when the plane hit a corner fence-post. It crashed nose first.
The incident happened just after 1:30 yesterday afternoon.
