NSIC football season begins this weekend
Minnesota Sports-- Football season opens in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference this week. Four games are set for Thursday, one contest is slated for Friday, and three more games are scheduled on Saturday.
Football season opens in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference this week. Four games are set for Thursday, one contest is slated for Friday, and three more games are scheduled on Saturday.
St. Cloud State quarterback Phillip Klaphake of Princeton is the North Division Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. His Huskies will host Sioux Falls on Thursday. Winona State running back Rayon Simmons of St Louis, Missouri is the South Division Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. The Warriors open play against Minnesota-Crookston on Thursday night in Winona.
The other two Thursday games feature Minnesota State-Mankato at Minot State and Minnesota-Duluth at Southwest (Minn.)State in Marshall. Friday's game is Bemidji State entertaining Upper Iowa. The three Saturday games are: Concordia-St. Paul hosting U-Mary, Minnesota State-Moorhead hosting Wayne State, and Augustana welcoming Northern State.
