Judge approves $50K settlement for teenager involved in accident

Judge Joseph Boles approved a $50,000 insurance settlement for a teen injured in a Sept. 19, 2011, automobile accident.

The settlement involves a claim brought on behalf of Jazmine Lee Hanson, Hager City, against Rodney Furlong and Progressive Universal Insurance Company.

Progressive will pay $50,000 on behalf of Hanson, who is 16. Of that amount, $12,500 will be paid to lawyer Patrick Costello for attorney’s fees and $366 for costs associated with the case.

Judge Boles approved the settlement and ordered the remaining funds be held in Costello’s trust account until sub-claims are satisfied.

Jazmine is the daughter of Nathan and Christine Marek, Hager City.
