Body discovered Monday in Mississippi back channel is identified
The body of Ohsang Woo, 40, was discovered by a fisherman Monday morning in the back channel of the Mississippi River.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department received a call around 8:15 a.m. Monday morning of a body floating in the back channel of the Mississippi River in the town of Trenton.
The body of Ohsang Woo, 40, Inver Grove Heights, Minn., was recovered and transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office. Investigator Tom Bauer said preliminary findings of the autopsy indicate Woo died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Bauer added Woo wasn't reported missing and said the last time he can confirm Woo was alive was August 21. His car was found nearby. Bauer further mentioned the incident is currently under investigation by the Sheriff's Department.
Goodhue County, Wisconsin DNR and the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office assisted on scene.
