Target Field to be site of 2104 All-Star Game

MINNEAPOLIS - Commissioner Bud Selig is expected to award the 2014 Major League Baseball All-Star Game to the Minnesota Twins and city of Minneapolis today.

The Twins have scheduled a 4 p.m. news conference billed as a major announcement regarding an upcoming event at Target Field. Selig, Twins owner Jim Pohlad, team President Dave Saint Peter, Hall of Famer Rod Carew, Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, and Hennepin County Commissioner Mike Opat are scheduled to attend.

The Twins last hosted the "Midsummer Classic" in 1985 at the Metrodome. The New York Mets' Citi Field is the site of the 2013 MLB All-Star Game.
