BOSTON - Tiger Woods carded his best opening round in more than three years, but it was only good for a tie for third place at the Deutsche Bank Championships in Boston.
Seung-Yui Noh had a nine under par 62 Friday to claim a one-shot edge on Chris Kirk.
Wisconsin golfer Steve Stricker’s two under 69 was good for a tie for 27th place. Stricker came in 16th in the point standings starting this second of the four-stop Fed-Ex Cup Playoffs. Pewaukee native Mark Wilson is tied for 90th at three over par entering today’s second round.
