Glenwood City downs Spring Valley 19-7

Spring Valley's offense was penned up for much of its game at Glenwood City Friday and the Cardinals lost 19-7 Friday in the Dunn-St. Croix opener.

GLENWOOD CITY - Spring Valley's offense was penned up for much of its game at Glenwood City Friday and the Cardinals lost 19-7 Friday in the Dunn-St. Croix opener.

The Hilltoppers scored a touchdown in the first three quarters. GC quarterback Nick Mrdutt threw a 67-yard TD pass and ran one in for six-yard TD.

Valley had just 137 yards in total offense and completed just three passes. Their lone score came in the fourth quarter by Gabe Verges on a four-yard run.

SV, 1-1 overall, has to play Elk Mound next Friday at home. The Mounders blanked defending D-SC champs St. Croix Central 35-0.
