BOSTON - Seven straight birdies help Louis Oosthuizen sweep past Rory McIlroy into the lead of the Deutsche Bank Champions going into today’s final round.
Oosthuizen has a three-stroke lead, with Tiger Woods a half-dozen shots back. Wisconsin golfer Steve Stricker shot a three under par 68 Sunday and is seven under par for the first three rounds. He’s a dozen shots behind the leader and tied for 16th place. There are 100 golfers in the field and 70 will advance to the third tournament in the four-week Fed-Ex Cup playoffs. Though Pewaukee native Mark Wilson made the cut, he needs a good round today to advance. After a three over par 74 yesterday, Wilson is tied for 75th place entering today’s final round.
