From July 22–Aug. 4, customers at Nilssen’s Foods in Ellsworth helped raise $1,700 to strengthen local families simply by rounding up their purchase total to the nearest dollar.
The Round-Up for Kids was a fundraiser for the nonprofit Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley (FRCSCV), which provides parent education and support to families in the Baldwin area, and throughout Pierce, Polk and St. Croix counties.
“Thank you to Nilssen’s Foods staff and customers for helping local children successfully grow and learn. Your support makes a real difference in the lives of families and the community,” said Patty Draxler, FRCSCV executive director.
FRCSCV’s services for area families include Baby and Me classes at River Falls Area Hospital, as well as personal visits to every family who delivers there. FRCSCV also offers Play and Learn groups in Baldwin, Hudson, River Falls and Spring Valley, and makes in-home visits to families in Ellsworth and communities throughout the area. Additionally, the organization provides a Teen Parent Program for local teens.
