The Pierce County Board of Supervisors approved appointees to several committees late last month.
David S. Paull was named to the Ethics Board, succeeding Mike Pepin. Administrative Coordinator JoAnn Miller was named to the Housing Consortium and local attorney Jens Loberg to the Revolving Loan Fund. Tami Weber was appointed to the ADRC Governing Board to fill Tasha Schuh’s spot. Board Chairman Jeff Holst announced he, Vice-Chairperson Greg Place and Jon Aubart will serve on the Negotiations Committee.
Holst, Register of Deeds Vicki Nelson, Treasurer Phyllis Beastrom, Property Lister Annette Langer, Land Management Director Andy Pichotta, Realtor Dave Murphy, Public Representative Bill Dravis and County Surveyor Louie Filkins were appointed to the Land Information Council.
The board also approved issuing tax deeds on two parcels in the county--one each in the Town of Gilman and the Village of Bay City--therefore becoming the legal owners. According to records provided at the meeting, the Gilman property has delinquent taxes of $15.71 while the Bay City property on Saratoga Street has delinquent taxes of $1,541.25.
Treasurer Phyllis Beastrom said there is a person interested in the Bay City property, but will have to submit a sealed bid higher than the appraised value.
The board received a report from Public Health Director Sue Galoff and former Human Services Director Tammy Kincaid illustrating how the two departments collaboratively work together. For example, the ADRC and Public Health Nutrition review the approved menus for the senior nutrition meal sites, an AODA counselor and Public Health Nurse participate in the Pierce County Partnership for Youth, the two billing staffs work collaboratively, and the mental health and jail health staff work together to coordinate the needs of the inmates.
