TOWN OF GILMAN—A couple with experience in the food industry has added ownership of an eatery to their management roles at a winery and a grocery store, respectively.
Julie Karlstad, who will continue managing Vino in the Valley in the Town of El Paso, and her husband Chuck, doing likewise as meat manager at Rainbow Foods in Woodbury, Minn., are reopening the recently idle café in the Red Barn retail complex. JC’s Red Barn Cafe was to be back in operation Friday.
“We’ve always wanted to own our own restaurant,” Mrs. Karlstad said Thursday, noting the initials in the establishment’s new name stand for Julie and Chuck.
