Poor second round sends Stricker tumbling in BMW Championships

CARMEL, Ind. - Steve Stricker of Madison fell down the leaderboard today in the PGA Playoffs.
Stricker shot a one-over-par 73 in his second round at the BMW Championship near Chicago. And he was tied for 46th among the 70-player field as of mid-afternoon, after starting the day in 16th. Stricker was at three-under-par 141 after 36 holes. Vijay Singh had the clubhouse lead at 13-under-131.
Pewaukee native Mark Wilson really struggled today. He shot a four-over-76, and was at plus-four 148 at the halfway point. That put him in a tie for 67th as of mid-afternoon. Wilson entered the tournament in 44th place in the Fed-Ex Cup point standings – and he’s not expected to advance to the playoff finale in two weeks in Atlanta.
Stricker is expected to make the Top-30 for the Tour Championship. He started this week’s tournament in 16th in the point standings.
