SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Former Milwaukee Bucks coach Don Nelson was among a dozen inductees into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame at ceremonies held last night.

Nelson won 540 games coaching the Bucks and 13-hundred-35 regular season games overall. He also coached for Dallas and Golden State. Reggie Miller headed the class of players after spending his entire 18-year NBA career with the Indiana Pacers and establishing a reputation as one of the finest clutch shooters in league history.

Defensive tackle Anthony Hargrove is eligible to suit up and play as early as this Sunday. That’s not likely, though. The Packers cut Hargrove in the preseason, but yesterday’s ruling means his eight-game suspension has been lifted. A collective bargaining agreement appeals panel overturned the suspensions for four players, including Hargrove, yesterday. A spokesman for the NFL says the players are eligible to take the field immediately – unless NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell goes back and suspends them. He could only do that by proving there was an intent to injure through the New Orleans Saints “bounty” program. Green Bay has made no indication, so far, what action the team might or might not take.

Steve Stricker slid into a tie for 46th with a one over par 73 Friday at the BMW Championship near Chicago. Stricker is 10 shots behind the leader, Vijay Singh, at three under par. Singh’s 13 under score through two rounds is good for single-shot lead on a group of three golfers, including Tiger Woods. The only other Wisconsin golfer in the field, Pewaukee native Mark Wilson, is tied for 67th in the 70-player field at four over par.
