Royals roll over Twins 10-5

The homer extended his hit streak to 16 games. Billy Butler was 3-for-5 with three RBIs, while Alex Gordon added two runs and a pair of RBI for Kansas City, which has won the first two of this series. P.J. Walters allowed six runs in four-plus innings for the loss. Denard Span was 3-for-5 with two runs scored for Minnesota in his return from injury. Jamey Carroll drove home three runs in the setback. Minnesota leftfielder Ryan Doumit committed three errors in the eighth inning of the game.

The final game of the three-game set is tonight.

The Twins have released their 2013 schedule, which will be the 53rd season in franchise history. The Twins will open the season at home for the first time in the history of Target Field. Detroit will visit Minnesota to open the regular season next April 1st. Interleague play is expanded in 2013, with the shifting of Houston to American League. There will be year-round interleague play sprinkled throughout the entire MLB slate. The Twins will have interleague series at home against the Mets, Marlins, Brewers and Phillies. Minnesota will visit Atlanta, Milwaukee, Washington, and Miami. The Yankees visit the Twin Cities from July 1-4, while Boston is in town May 17-19.
