Schmidt named new Human Services Director

The Pierce County Board of Supervisors approved Ronald Schmidt as its new Human Services Director Thursday.

The Pierce County Board of Supervisors approved Ronald Schmidt as its new Human Services Director Thursday.

Schmidt comes from Clark County in Neillsville, where he was their Social Services Director since March 2008. According to his resume, he provides supervision and administration to three managers and twenty-nine total staff. He has managed a budget of approximately $3.5 million.

Other job stops have included three years as a Social Work Supervisor for Wood County in Wisconsin Rapids, and seven years as co-owner of an agency in Michigan who provided case management services to individuals with mental illness and development disabilities.

Schmidt graduated from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1990 then added his Masters two years later.

Administrative Coordinator JoAnn Miller said Friday Miller is expected to start on or about October 1.
