Lund fire unit fundraiser Sept. 28

The Lund Fire Department has joined forces with the Bogus Creek Cafe in Stockholm for the first-ever fundraiser for the fire department.

LUND--The Lund Fire Department has joined forces with the Bogus Creek Cafe in Stockholm for the first-ever fundraiser for the fire department.

The focus of this fundraiser is to purchase additional needed equipment for the fire engine located at Lund Fire District Station 2 in the Village of Stockholm.

The new fire engine will be on site during the fundraiser on Friday, Sept. 28, from 4-7 p.m. at Bogus Creek Cafe and Bakery in Stockholm. A pork supper with all the fixings will be served by Lund’s volunteer firefighters. A raffle prize drawing, a pie-eating contest and a tug-of-war contest are all included in the event. All proceeds will benefit the Lund Fire District.

According to Lund Fire Chief Steve Anderson, a recent upgrade of the Stockholm engine means it now has increased pumping capacity and equipment storage compartments.

“Now we have an opportunity to equip this engine in a manner which will enhance its utility and benefit to our subscribers in the Lund Fire District,” Anderson said.
