RIVER FALLS--Allina Health recently made a $1,000 contribution to sponsor Turningpoint’s “Walk to Empower,” a fundraiser for programs providing support, shelter and other resources to individuals and families who have experienced domestic or sexual violence.

The contribution was recommended by a committee of River Falls Area Hospital employees.

The 24th annual walk event is open to the public and will be on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Great River Road Visitor Center in Prescott. Registration is at 9 a.m., with a short program at 10 a.m., followed by a two-mile walk.

“We appreciate Allina’s commitment to supporting the community and promoting healthy lifestyles,” said Kim Wojcik, the executive director of Turningpoint. “The people who use Turningpoint’s services have lives that are out of balance and at risk for all kinds of physical and mental health issues. This contribution will help us provide direct service to community members to help them step up into safe and healthy living.”

For more information about the event, contact Turningpoint at 715-425-6751, x104, or go to www.turningpoint-wi.org.
