For the 51st year, the Shriner members of the St. Croix Valley Shrine Club will again host the Little East-West Shrine Game at UW–River Falls.
This year’s game is the Falcons homecoming celebration on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. at Ramer Field. The game will be a match-up of UW-River Falls and UW-Oshkosh.
The homecoming parade is an annual joint venture between the University Homecoming Committee and the St. Croix Valley Shrine Club. The parade steps off at 10:30 a.m. and will feature floats and entrees from the UWRF plus units from Shrine organizations from throughout the Upper Midwest.
Grand marshal named
The grand marshal for the parade this year comes from Ellsworth.
Her story is similar to hundreds of other young children who have received care from the Shriners Hospital for Children® in the Twin Cities.
Twelve-year-old Brianna Kaeder, daughter of John and Amber Kaeder, was born with tightened heel cords and other disabilities that would keep her from enjoying a rich full life. The heel disorder resulted in Kaeder walking on her tip toes and it was very difficult for her to run like other kids.
