Prescott pounds B-W with 24-0 shutout, No. 6 Durand looms

BALDWIN - Prescott High School's football team heads into its Homecoming week off a 24-0 shutout win over Baldwin-Woodville Friday.
It's the second shutout this season the Cardinals have posted. The Cardinals held B-W to just four yards rushing on 29 attempts.
PHS, meanwhile, rushed for 246 yards led by a near-100 yard game for halfback Sam Smith. He also scored on a 33-yard run.
Also running into the endzone for Prescott points were Tate Nahorniak from three yards out and Harry Cutler from seven yards away.
Cardinal kicker Owen Schommer was 4-for-4 on extra points and booted a 32-yard field goal.
Prescott will need all the momentum it can muster heading into Friday's Homecoming game vs. Durand. The No. 6 ranked Panthers blasted previously unbeaten Osceola 44-6 Friday. Durand is undefeated while Prescott is 3-2 overall, 2-2 in the Middle Border Conference. Kick-off for Friday's game at Laney Field is at 7 p.m.
