Dan Morth has returned as interim director, part of changes for the Ellsworth Ambulance Service.
Morth had previously been interim director of the service after former Director Bill Brookshaw and former Assistant Director Brenda Kenall resigned in March of last year. Village Trustee Rick Sweig, who’s village representative on the ambulance board, confirmed Thursday Morth is again filling the top role.
Sweig also acknowledged the local ambulance board has taken the present arrangement for the operation’s management under consideration and is to make a decision about its continuation or a change.
“The contract expires Dec. 31,” Sweig said, referring to a pact with Regions Hospital’s Western Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services (WWEMS). “We need to reach a decision by 60 days prior.”
Sweig said a meeting has been scheduled for next Tuesday, when the issue is to be discussed.
He emphasized the local board wasn’t involved in the handling of the director’s job, as the position is under the auspices of WWEMS.
