The Cardinals improved to 4-0 in the Middle Border Conference with a 3-1 Homecoming victory over Durand. The Cardinals won Game 1 25-19, lost out in Game 2 by a 26-28 score but wiped out the Panthers in the final two games 25-19 and 25-8.

PHS can put a hammerlock on the conference lead Thursday when they travel to Ellsworth to play the Panthers.

Ellsworth will go into Thursday's contest off a 3-1 loss to Osceola to drop to 1-3 in league play. The game scores were 15-25, 25-23, 19-25 and 16-25.

Meanwhile in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference, Plum City improved to 5-0 after sweeping away St. Croix Central in Hammond 25-21, 25-13 and 25-13. Marah Boyer led the Blue Devils with nine kills and Sarah Gille finished with five. Ashlie Miller had 13 assists and Shelby Kannel made 12 digs.

In a match of winless D-SC teams, Spring Valley recorded win one in league play over Pierce County rival Elmwood 25-16, 25-12, 25-16. Taylor Billie, Nevada Schlegel and Emily Boisen all had strong serving games to break open each game for the Cardinals. SV is 1-4 in the league but they are back to .500 at 10-10 overall.
