Geister was diagnosed in June with Pseudotumor Cerebri, a painful condition where her body produces too much spinal fluid, putting pressure on her spinal cord and brain. One of the side effects is blindness. She needs a shunt inserted in her brain to drain the excess fluid her body produces to maintain this life-long condition.
Geister is well-known in the Prescott community as an artist, tattoo artist and owner of Geister Ink. As a result of her condition, she has been unable to work over the last several months. Since she is self-employed, she has tried to get insurance, but can’t due to her pre-existing condition.
Activities planned on the 29th include live music and dancing, silent auction, raffles, food and beverage, bake sale and a variety of other events, including for children.
For more information, call Lisa Geister at (651) 253-1880 or e-mail her at Lisa Geister. One can also visit Kelly Geister’s Facebook page, where there is a link for the benefit.
Any monetary gifts for the benefit can be deposited at any WESTconsin Credit Union location. Just make sure to make the checks payable to the Kelly Geister Benefit.
