Prescott-Ellsworth volleyball showdown tonight

PHS heads down Hwy. 10 east to Ellsworth to take on the Panther spikers in a league contest starting at 7 p.m.
PHS has won four straight matches but had to struggle to beat Ellsworth back the league's quad meet in Durand a few weeks ago. EHS has been a struggle for the league's best teams to beat but unfortunately for the Panthers, beaten they have been as they sport just a 1-3 league record going into tonight's contest.
The Cardinals are coming off a 3-1 Homecoming win over Durand. After losing Game 2 26-28, PHS responded by whipping the Panthers in games three and four. But Prescott any Homecoming distractions affect them for Ellsworth is more than equipped them if the Cards play poorly.
Prescott is the only remaining unbeaten squad in the league with Somerset, B-W and Osceola all 3-1. Osceola, which downed Ellsworth Tuesday 3-1, is off tonight while Somerset plays at Durand and B-W hosts winless Amery.
Over in the Dunn-St. Croix, Plum City will look to stay undefeated hosting Boyceville. Elmwood has a good chance to get its first league win playing at Glenwood City and Spring Valley hopes to go above ,500 overall playing at St. Croix Central.
Both county Cardinal teams, Prescott and Spring Valley, will play in the Amery Invitational this weekend.
Spring Valley's Emily Boisen leads the D-SC in aces with 33. Hear teammate Tana O'Keefe is third in the league in assists with 233. Elmwood's McKayla Brunner and Janessa Vandenberg are third and fifth in the league in blocks
