NEW YORK -- The National Hockey League announced yesterday afternoon that the league has decided to cancel the remainder of the 2012 preseason schedule.
The cancellation of the schedule was necessary because the players union and league have yet been able to agree on a new collective bargaining agreement.
The regular season is still scheduled to begin on October 11th but will not if the two sides fail to reach an agreement on a new CBA
