HAYWARD - The 2012 prep girls' golf season came to an end for Ellsworth and Prescott Tuesday at the WIAA Division 2 Hayward Sectional
Prescott finished eighth in the team standings out of eight teams competing. However the Cardinals did have on of their best 18-hole scores of the season at 423. Katie Filkins had PHS's best score with a 100.
Hayward won the sectional title on their home course at the Hayward Golf and Tennis Club. Osceola was second and the Chieftains' Casey Danielson was the individual sectional champ with a score of 72.
Ellsworth had two individuals compete in the sectional meet. Aubrey Langer shot an 87 to finish ninth and Karissa Seibel shot a 103.
Also qualifying as individuals were Baldwin-Woodville's Heidi Hinz and Luck/Unity's Avery Steen, who had to win a playoff Ladysmith's Hayley Seifert to nail down the final state meet bid.
The Middle Border Conference displayed its golf prowess in Division 1 as well as New Richmond won the WIAA Division 1 Stevens Point Sectional with a score of 350.
