The latest on Pierce County employee hires.

Natalie Stockwell was named the part-time confidential administrative assistant for the Sheriff’s Department. Stockwell was a long-time employee who retired last year where she worked in many sheriff’s units including jail, patrol and investigations. The position was fulltime until a few years ago, when budget cuts forced the reduction.

Donny Knutson started as a patrol officer earlier this month. Knutson was previously a jail sergeant. Aaron Hansen was also promoted to investigations, but won’t start until December due to patrol vacancies, Sheriff Nancy Hove said.

Carol DeWolf was approved as the part-time deputy register in probate and will start Oct. 8. She currently works for the St. Croix Valley Restorative Justice program.

The co-department head vacancy in Child, Youth and Families won’t be filled until after Human Services Director Ronald Schmidt starts, according to Personnel Director Sandy Langer. Schmidt’s first day was Monday.

Shiloh Herrum was approved as an economic support specialist. She replaces Rebecca Muller, who was promoted to lead worker when Emily Carlson resigned.

Finally, JoAnna Demulling was named as secretary for UW-Extension replacing Cindy Miller, who retired in August. Demulling will start Oct. 15.
