EAU CLAIRE - A woman found dead after a house fire in Eau Claire on Monday has been identified as 47-year-old Cheryl Lechner.
An autopsy showed that Lechner died from carbon monoxide poisoning due to smoke inhalation. But police still don’t know the circumstances that led to her death.
They say the State Crime Lab is analyzing some of the evidence – and when that’s done, officials hope to know more about the cause of the fire. Lechner was the only person in her house after the blaze broke out.
