EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. -- The good news that the wildfire threat in northwestern Minnesota is over. The bad news is: What to do with all this snow?
The National Weather Service reports record snowfall for an October 4th in areas throughout Roseau County including 14-inches in the city of Badger. In nearby Kittson County, Karlstad residents who were evacuated due to fire earlier this week had to worry about having electricity after the snowstorm last night. Half-a-foot of snow piled up in town -- and to the south in Crookston.
Heavy accumulations closed schools, limited travel and even canceled a homecoming parade.
