Part of the outcome of the Middle Border and Dunn-St. Croix Conference titles in prep volleyball have been decided this week.
Prescott officially clinched a share of the MBC title with a 3-0 sweep at Amery Tuesday. The Cardinals left no doubt who were the league champions as they kept the Warriors winless in league play by scores of 25-10, 25-12 and 25-16.
Thursday evening Elk Mound clinched a share of the D-SC title by outlasting Plum City at Plum City 3-2. PC won Game 3 by a 25-23 score by EM struck back immediately by winning Game 4 easily 25-12. Plum City took a 9-4 lead in Game 5 but couldn't hold it. EM came back again and finally beat down the Blue Devils 18-16 in Game 5.
It was the second 3-2 win of the week for the Mounders as they dispatched Pepin 3-2 on Tuesday while it was the second straight gut-wrenching loss for PC as they lost by that score at Colfax Tuesday. Plum City came into the week with a shot at the title but a three-match losing streak have dashed those hopes.
