Kenseth again tries to move up in Chase standings

-- Matt Kenseth of Cambridge will try again to move up the leaderboard in NASCAR’s Chase for the Sprint Cup. He’s currently last among the 12 hopefuls still in the running for the season championship with seven races left.

TALLADEGA, Ala. - Matt Kenseth of Cambridge will try again to move up the leaderboard in NASCAR’s Chase for the Sprint Cup. He’s currently last among the 12 hopefuls still in the running for the season championship with seven races left.

Kenseth is 72 points behind first-place Brad Keselowski going into Sunday’s Good Sam Roadside Assistance-500 in Talladega, Alabama. Paul Menard of Eau Claire, who’s 16th in the Sprint Cup standings, is also entered along with Travis Kvapil of Janesville. Qualifying takes place tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Camping World Truck Series is also at Talladega for the Fred’s 250 to be run tomorrow. Qualifying is set for tonight. Johnny Sauter of Necedah is entered. He’s 11th in the series’ point standings. The Nationwide Series is off this weekend. That circuit returns next weekend in Charlotte.
