Sunday State Sports Briefs: Skiles happy with Bucks' practices so far
Wisconsin Sports-- It was a good first week of practice, so Milwaukee Bucks head coach Scott Skiles has given his team today off.
MILWAUKEE - It was a good first week of practice, so Milwaukee Bucks coach Scott Skiles has given his team today off.
Impressive long-range shooting by Mike Dunleavy and Erson Ilyasova highlighted a long session yesterday. Also impressive in the early going has been veteran inside player Joe Przybilla, who looks healthy after missing time last season with a knee injury. The Bucks open their exhibition season Tuesday at Cleveland against the Cavaliers.

The Indianapolis Colts have additional inspiration when they host Green Bay in today’s 1 p.m. kickoff. Their 52 year old head coach Chuck Pagano was diagnosed with leukemia last week and he will miss most of the rest of the season – maybe all of it. Colts players say it’s important to win the game so they can give the game ball to their coach. The Packers will rely on their improving offense to move over the .500 mark with a road victory. They scored 28 points in a win over New Orleans last week after averaging about half as many points as they scored last season. Indianapolis goes again with top draft pick Andrew Luck at quarterback. He’s had good moments and bad in a 1-2 start for the Colts.

Rhinelander native Dan Forsman’s disastrous second round tumbles him into 79th place at the SAS Championship in Cary, North Carolina. Only 80 golfers are in the field. Forsman followed Friday’s even par round with an eight-over 80 Saturday. He trails leader Fred Funk by 16 shots going into today’s final round.
