Gertrude Brenner, 96

Gertrude Marie Brenner, age 96, of Ellsworth, died Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Kinnic Long Term Care, River Falls, Wis.

She was born on Feb. 8, 1916, in the town of El Paso, to Barney and Mathilda (Febiger) Klecker. She later married Lawrence Brenner at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lost Creek. Gert worked for over 30 years at the Ellsworth Care Center (Manor) as a nurses aide. She also worked at Hi-Park in Red Wing and Brotoloc in Ellsworth.

Gertrude Brenner is survived by four children, Richard Brenner, Patti (Mick) Gaustad, Betty (Duane) Gilbertson, Rose Mary Brenner; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; daughter Joan Larson; brothers, John and Richard; and a sister, Regina.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Ellsworth. Burial will be in the Clayfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth, and for 1 hour prior to the Mass at the church on Friday.
