Letting adults finish what they started

Thirty months ago, UW-River Falls opened a center in Hudson with the goal of providing adults a chance to obtain their business degrees.

PRESCOTT -- Thirty months ago, UW-River Falls opened a center in Hudson with the goal of providing adults a chance to obtain their business degrees.

Michael Bilden, Adult Degree Completion Program director, spoke to Prescott Kiwanis Thursday about how far the center has come since.

“Our four-year target goal was getting 100 students,” he said. “And right now we are at 85.”

Bilden said the two common themes he heard from adults in coming back is getting a degree to move ahead in their careers and providing a good example for their children.

He believes the program’s success lies with individuality.

“We are focused on providing services so adults can get the degrees they need,” he said. “And to work with people on an individual basis from start to finish.”
