Playoff bids on the line for Prescott, EPC
A win is all that's required for both the Prescott and Elmwood/Plum City football teams to assure themselves of postseason play.
A win is all that's required for both the Prescott and Elmwood/Plum City football teams to assure themselves of postseason play.
Prescott can secure such a win tonight when they travel to Amery to face the Warriors in their final regular season contest. EPC can do the same if they upset No. 1 ranked and undefeated Clayton at Raider Field tonight in Elmwood. Kick-off is at 7 p.m.
A win puts Prescott in and a loss takes them out completely, one way or the other. For EPC the situation is more complicated.
A win certain puts EPC in the playoff field but a loss doesn't eliminate them altogether. At .500 in the Lakeland South Conference they would be under consideration for a bid.
The playoff field should be known about 10:30 p.m. tonight and the pairings will be set around early afternoon tomorrow.
Other games tonight involving Pierce County teams has Ellsworth at No. 2 ranked Durand and Spring Valley taking on Alma/Pepin in a non-conference contest at Alma.
