MINNESOTA -- Minnesota Timberwolves star forward Kevin Love will be out for six- to eight-weeks and is headed to a specialist in New York after breaking two bones in his right hand.

It happened when Love was working out before Wednesday's practice at Target Center. The UCLA product will be examined by Dr. Andy Weiland in New York on Thursday. Weiland also performed surgery on Love when he broke his left hand during preseason in 2009.

The Wolves begin their season November 2nd against Sacramento, minus both Love and Ricky Rubio, who is recovering from knee surgery. Minnesota plays a preseason game in Chicago tomorrow night.

The NBA is looking to get games started faster this season once starting lineups are announced. The league is implementing a 90-second window from the time players are introduced until the opening tip. Violations of the 90-second rule will lead to a delay-of-game warning.
