Qualifying times fast at Kansas Speedway for upcoming race

KANSAS CITY - A repaved track meant a lot of speed for NASCAR drivers qualifying for tomorrow’s Hollywood Casino 400.

Kasey Kahne broke the Kansas Speedway record to claim the pole position for the sixth race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Mark Martin starts second.

Matt Kenseth will start 12th tomorrow. He is 11th in the overall Chase standings so far. Eau Claire’s Paul Menard takes off from 14th, Janesville’s Travis Kvapil starts 31st, Beloit’s Danica Patrick 40th and Kelly Bires of Mauston got the 43rd and final starting position.
