Miller receives longevity award

Jo Ann Miller, Pierce County Administrative Coordinator, recently received a 30-year service award from ICMA (International City/County Management Association), the premier local government leadership and management organization.

Jo Ann Miller, Pierce County Administrative Coordinator, recently received a 30-year service award from ICMA (International City/County Management Association), the premier local government leadership and management organization.

Miller’s achievement was celebrated at a special ceremony on Oct. 10 as part of the 98th ICMA Annual Conference in Phoenix, which she was unable to attend.

ICMA Service Awards recognize and celebrate members’ dedication to public service and professional management at the local level. Awards are based on the number of years of full-time employment in local government.

Miller is qualified by 30 years of professional local government experience. She became administrative coordinator of Pierce County in 2011. She previously served as village administrator of DeForest, City Administrator of Jefferson, Ia., and Perry, Ia. She also served as the Director of Member Services for the Iowa League of Cities.

Miller has also served the Iowa City/County Management Association as a board member.
