MINNEAPOLIS -- The Thursday night NFL spotlight shines on Minneapolis this week as the Minnesota Vikings host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Vikings are 5-and-2 on the season after a 21-14 win over Arizona last week. Minnesota is 4-0 at home this season but has lost five straight meetings with Tampa. The Bucs are 2-4 on the year and have dropped nine in-a-row on the road dating back to last season. Kickoff is slated for 7:20 p.m. at the Metrodome.
Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week Seven yesterday. Peterson rushed for a season-high 153 yards and one touchdown in Minnesota's 21-14 win over the Cardinals last Sunday. It marked Peterson's 29th 100-yard game, tying Robert Smith for the most in Vikings history. He leads the NFL in yards from scrimmage with 787 this season.
