Revenge game for the Badgers against Michigan State tomorrow

MADISON - The University of Wisconsin football team hopes to further erase a bitter memory, when it hosts Michigan State tomorrow in its Homecoming game.

It was just over a year ago when the Badgers lost at East Lansing 37-31 on a 44-yard Hail Mary pass by the Spartans on the game’s final play. The Badgers did get redemption a few weeks later, when they defeated Michigan State 42-39 in a wild Big Ten Championship game. But the Hail Mary still eats at Wisconsin’s craw – even though some involved don’t want to admit it. The game still gets replayed on the Big Ten Network, and Badgers’ assistant Charlie Partridge says he’s seen enough of it. But defensive end Brendan Kelly reviewed the Hail Mary play several times this week as part of his preparation for tomorrow’s contest. He said he loves watching it because it provides motivation.

This year, the Spartans are struggling at 4-4 overall, and a 1-3 conference record. The Badgers have won three straight, and are 3-1 in the Big Ten and 6-2 overall.
