State accepts two land donations for pheasant habitat
Outdoor News-- More than 650 acres of protected wildlife habitat has been added in Rock County. The Wisconsin National Resources Board accepted two land donations and has recommended spending a little over a half-million dollars to buy and another parcel.
JANESVILLE - More than 650 acres of protected wildlife habitat has been added in Rock County. The Wisconsin National Resources Board accepted two land donations and has recommended spending a little over a half-million dollars to buy and another parcel.
The decision last week adds 360 acres to the Avon Bottoms Wildlife Area southwest of Janesville. In the town of Center, 295 acres will be used to preserve pheasant habitat.
The state is buying 165 acres from a couple in Brodhead. That transaction still has to be approved by the governor.
