MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers improved their defense this season – but not enough to win a Gold Glove award.

The Crew had two finalists, neither of which were named the National League’s best defensive players at their respective divisions. Chase Headley of San Diego won the Gold Glove at third base over Brewers’ finalist Aramis Ramirez. Left-fielder Carlos Gonzalez of Colorado beat out Ryan Braun, who was a finalist for the second straight year.

The Brewers have now gone 30 years without winning a Gold Glove award – and they’re the only Major League team in the current century not to be recognized. Former Brewer J.J. Hardy of Baltimore won a Gold Glove as the best defensive shortstop in the American League.
