Wisconsin men’s basketball coach Bo Ryan will get his first chance tonight to get his newer players in the mix, when the Badgers host U-W Oshkosh in an exhibition. Wisconsin has a solid front-court returning from a year ago, anchored by senior forwards Mike Bruesewitz, Jared Berggren, and Ryan Evans. The challenge for Ryan is to get point guards George Marshall and Traevon Jackson up-to-speed. Marshall, a redshirt freshman, is expected to be the main replacement for junior Josh Gasser – who’s out for the year after injuring an A-C-L knee ligament at practice late last month. Kaminsky lost 15 pounds from last season, after he admitted that he wasn’t in the best shape a year ago. Ryan will also have the challenge of giving freshman forward Sam Dekker enough playing time. Dekker scored over 26-hundred points at Sheboygan Lutheran – the fourth-highest in state history. Tonight, the Badgers will face an Oshkosh team that returns two starters from a year ago – junior guards Cory Nickel and Dylan Wurtz. Wurtz hit 41-percent of his three-pointers last season. Bruesewitz will not play due to a severe leg injury at an October workout. He’s due back November 14th against Florida.
