Boyer picked for first team All D-SC
Plum City High School volleyball player Marah Boyer was named to the All Dunn-St. Croix Conference Volleyball first team for the 2012 season.
Plum City High School volleyball player Marah Boyer was named to the All Dunn-St. Croix Conference Volleyball first team for the 2012 season.
Boyer was fifth in the league in kills with 220. She also was in the top 10 in league statistics in digs with 240, aces with 32 and blocks with 28.
For Boyer it is the second straight season she made the first team. She was on the second team as a sophomore in 2010 and as a freshman she received honorable mention.
Also on the first team for 2012 were Boyceville sophomore Abbey Bird, Colfax senior Ryleigh Prochnow, her teammate sophomore Kori Buchanan, Elk Mound seniors Becca Kopp and Kaysi Meindel, Mondovi senior Jade Seipel and Pepin senior Kayla Meixner.
Meindel led the league in kills with 334 while Buchanan was second with 240. Kopp was second in the league in assists with 505. Buchanan led the league in aces with 84. Bird led the D-SC in digs with 384 with Meixner second at 341. Meindel was second in the league in blocks with 77.
Like Boyer, Seipel made the first team last season while Kopp was on the second team and Prochnow, Meindel and Meixner all received honorable mention.
Three Pierce County players were chosen for the second team, each one from an eastern county school.
Chosen were Spring Valley junior Emily Boisen, Elmwood senior Ally Pax and Plum City senior Heather Von Holtum.
Elmwood had two players receiving honorable mention in seniors McKayla Brunner and Jessica Olson. Also receiving honorable mention was Plum City junior Sarah Gilles.
