Bucks take first loss of season

-- The Milwaukee Bucks lost their first game of the season last night, 108-90 to the Memphis Grizzlies at the Bradley Center.

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Bucks lost their first game of the season last night, 108-90 to the Memphis Grizzlies at the Bradley Center.

The Bucks trailed by 22 points early in the second half – and they got the margin down to seven before the Grizzlies pulled away in the fourth quarter. Memphis out-rebounded the Bucks 49-41, and had a 46-38 scoring edge in the paint. Head Coach Scott Skiles said the Bucks had their chances inside, but they missed 15 lay-ups and were out-played at the rim.

Zach Randolph had his fourth straight double-double for Memphis with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Four Memphis starters scored in double figures. Brandon Jennings led Milwaukee with 19 points, on a night when the Bucks were out-shot 53-to-38 percent. Monta Ellis missed 9-of-his-first-10 shots from the floor, but he ended up with 15. The Bucks also missed seven-of-21 from the free throw line.

Memphis improved to 3-1. Milwaukee is now 2-1, and will play at Washington tomorrow night.
