CHARLESTON, S.C. - Too much moisture on the court canceled the season-opening game between Ohio State and Marquette last night.
Referees conferred with coaches Thad Matta and Buzz Williams before calling off the second annual Carrier Classic on the USS Yorktown.
Earlier in the day – when the court was dry – the Notre Dame women’s basketball team edged Ohio State 57-51.
The Carrier Classic raises money for groups which help the troops and veterans and it is a showcase for the Veterans Day weekend.
